This course examines contemporary environmental policies and management at the urban scale. It aims to provide students with a theoretically sophisticated and empirically grounded understandings of environmental sustainability challenges that emerge as a result of urban development and their hinterlands. It offers an in-depth investigation of the emerging theories, assessments and tools for attaining sustainability in urban areas.
