In all the revolutions and transformations in contemporary China, some political figures and the Communist Party played and are playing an important role. This course mainly introduces the efforts and ideas made by the Communist Party when facing different situations at home and abroad in the past days. Along with the development of China, the Communist Party, as the ruling party, applies the principles of Marxism to China’s specific situations and forms special theories on socialism path, such as Mao Zedong’s thoughts and Deng Xiaoping’s thoughts. Upon completing this course, students are expected to grasp these thoughts and to gain a deep understanding of the historical process, historical reforms, and historical achievements made by the Chinese people under the leadership of the Communist Party.
“毛泽东思想和中国特色社会主义理论体系概论”以马克思主义中国化为主线，集中阐述马克思主义中国化理论成果的主要内容、精神实质、历史地位和指导意义，充分反映中国共产党不断推进马克思主义基本原理与中国具体实际相结合的历史进程和基本经验。通过学习本门课程，学生可以更加准确地把握马克思主义中国化进程中形成的理论成果，更加深刻地认识中国共产党领导人民进行的革命、建设、改革的历史进程、历史变革、历史成就，以更加透彻地理解中国共产党在新时代坚持的基本理论、基本路线、基本方略。如此，学生也能得高自身运用马克思主义立场、观点和方法去认识问题、分析问题和解决问题的能力。
