The Library of CUHK-Shenzhen, as a professional academic library, has recognised over a decade that each library user has unique needs when it comes to utilising library resources. In response, we understand the importance of establishing a distinct brand that caters to these diverse and personalised needs while deepening library users' awareness of the Library's pivotal role in academic research and knowledge acquisition. We aim to create a professional and welcoming brand image that effectively communicates the Library's core values and service mission, fostering a strong sense of identity and belonging among library users. This professional brand image highlights the library's expertise and service quality and is crucial in attracting library users, enhancing their satisfaction, and increasing their engagement. Additionally, the brand building serves as a driving force for promoting innovation within the library, inspiring us to continuously explore new service models and technological advancements that can readily adapt to the ever-evolving needs of library users.

Establishing a professional brand image

在互联网飞速发展的今天，图书馆网站不仅是展示图书馆风采的门户，更是品牌建设的重要一环。在建校最初的几年里，图书馆网站的设计风格以极致的简洁为核心，意在为读者提供一个直观且易操作的在线平台。然而，随着时间的推移，与大学整体的蓬勃发展和壮大同步，图书馆也经历了显著的蜕变与扩张。其核心服务范畴不断拓宽，藏书量迅速增加，各种数字化资源和服务也应运而生。

In today's rapidly evolving internet landscape, a library website serves as a gateway to showcase the library's excellence and plays a crucial role in brand building. During the initial years of its establishment, the library website focused on a clean and minimalist design, aiming to provide library users with an intuitive and user-friendly online platform. However, as time passed and the University experienced significant growth and expansion, the Library underwent a remarkable transformation. The scope of its core services expanded, the collection grew rapidly, and various digital resources and services emerged.

在这样的发展背景下，原先简洁的网站布局已难以全面展示图书馆所蕴含的丰富资源和提供的多样化服务。因此，自2018年大学图书馆新馆舍落成之际，图书馆网站设计便开始了持续性的更新与优化，以更好地适应不断增长的业务需求，并进一步提升图书馆作为知识殿堂的品牌形象。

In light of this developmental context, the original simplistic website layout struggled to showcase the Library's abundant resources and diverse services comprehensively. As a result, since the completion of the new library building in 2018, the website design has undergone continuous updates and optimisations to better adapt to the growing business demands and further enhance the Library's brand image as a knowledge centre.

例如为了提升读者体验，图书馆网站增设了独立的新闻和通知栏目，使其与活动汇总页面相区分，从而方便读者根据个人兴趣和需求查询最新的图书馆资讯。这一举措不仅提升了网站的信息呈现效率，也进一步强化了图书馆作为知识传播与交流中心的专业形象。

For example, to enhance the user experience, the website introduced a separate news and announcements section distinct from the events page. This allows library users to easily access the latest information based on their interests and needs. This initiative improves the efficiency of information presentation on the website and reinforces the Library's professional image as a hub for knowledge dissemination and exchange.

在日常工作中，我们注意到许多读者对图书馆的专业服务了解不足，因此无法充分利用这些对科研和教学至关重要的资源。为了弥补这一信息鸿沟，自2020年起，图书馆策划并陆续推出了How-To系列动画短视频，系统地介绍了图书馆的各项基本服务及功能，涵盖电子资源的使用、互动空间的介绍、馆内设施及基础服务等，以期帮助读者更好地利用我们的服务。

In our day-to-day operations, we have observed that many library users have limited knowledge about the Library's professional services, which prevents them from fully maximising these vital resources for research and teaching. To address this information gap, we initiated a strategic plan in 2020 to develop and release animated short videos known as the "How-To" series. These videos are designed to introduce the Library's various essential services and features systematically. They cover topics such as accessing and utilising electronic resources, navigating interactive spaces, and understanding the library's facilities and foundational services. We aim to empower library users with the knowledge and skills to effectively utilise our services and resources.

在这些基础服务中，学科服务尤为突出，它是图书馆从传统向智慧转型的重要标志。学科服务旨在深化图书馆与各院系的合作，通过深入挖掘和整合学科资源，为师生提供一座连接“科研需求”与“教学保障”的桥梁，为他们的学术探索提供强有力的文献信息支持。为了更直观地展示学科服务的重要性和价值，图书馆品牌部于2022年推出了《走进真实的学科服务》系列报道。该系列由三位学生记者对在职的学科馆员进行一对一采访，并在最后一期中发布了《Welcome to the Subject Service at the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen》学科推广视频，从而加深了读者对图书馆专业服务的认知与了解，进一步树立了我们专业、高效、贴心的品牌形象。

Among these foundational services, subject services stand out as a crucial indicator of the Library's transformation from traditional to intelligent services. Subject services aim to deepen the collaboration between the Library and various Schools. By deeply exploring and integrating subject resources, they provide a bridge that connects research needs and teaching support, offering robust literature and information support for academic exploration. To visually demonstrate the importance and value of subject services, the Library's Branding and User Engagement Team launched the "走进真实的学科服务" series of reports in 2022. This series features one-on-one interviews conducted by three student journalists with subject librarians. The final instalment includes releasing the "Welcome to the Subject Service at the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen" promotional video, enhancing library users' understanding and awareness of the Library's professional services and further establishing our brand image as professional, efficient, and user-oriented.

拉近与读者的关系

Strengthening the Relationship with Library Users

自2015年起，尽管香港中文大学（深圳）图书馆在品牌塑造上尚未形成系统化、规模化的推进策略，但我们已经深刻认识到与读者建立紧密且积极互动关系的重要性。因此，在节日庆典或校内活动中，图书馆开展了如万圣节糖果派送，以及大学迎新时向读者分发图书馆手册，以此拉近与读者的距离，增进彼此间的情感连接。

Since 2015, although the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen has yet to establish a systematic and scalable branding strategy, we have recognised the importance of establishing a close and active interaction with library users. Therefore, during festive celebrations or campus events, the Library has organised activities such as Halloween candy distribution and distributing library handbooks to library users during university orientation. These initiatives aim to bridge the gap and foster emotional connections with library users.

随着大学的蓬勃发展和不断壮大，读者对图书馆的需求也日益增长。为了更好地满足这些需求，并进一步加深与读者之间的情感纽带，自2018年起，图书馆特别策划了年终读者答谢活动，以此表达对读者一年来支持与合作的深深感谢。此外，在年末至年初的这段时间，图书馆还举办了新年许愿活动，为忙于学业和工作的读者们提供一个释放压力、寄托希望的平台。这些活动逐渐形成了年末年始的系列活动品牌，成为图书馆的一张闪亮名片，深受读者喜爱。

As the University continues to flourish and grow, the demand for library services from library users has also increased. To better meet these needs and further deepen the emotional bond with library users, since 2018, the Library has been organising an annual library user appreciation event to express profound gratitude for the support and cooperation received throughout the year. Additionally, during the year-end to new-year period, the Library hosts a New Year's wishes activity, providing a platform for busy library users to relieve stress and express their hopes and aspirations. These activities have gradually formed a series of Year-End and New Year events, becoming a shining representation of the Library and greatly appreciated by library users.

在图书馆的某个角落，或是在公众号文章的插图里，你或许曾与一只紫色小龙不期而遇。它身披香港中文大学（深圳）的标志性紫色，正是图书馆的吉祥物——礼步步。它的出现，不仅为图书馆的日常增添了一抹亮色，更标志着图书馆品牌建设迈出了坚实的步伐。

You may have unexpectedly encountered a little purple dragon in the corner of the library building or through the illustrations in our WeChat posts. Meet Libro, the Library's mascot, adorned in the iconic purple colour of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. Libro's presence adds a vibrant touch to the Library's daily activities and signifies a significant step in the library's brand development.

2021年，我们意识到一个可爱、充满魅力的吉祥物能够极大地提升读者在图书馆活动中的参与度和认同感。因此，同年3月，我们面向全校读者发起了为期一个月的吉祥物创意征集大赛，寻找能够代表图书馆精神的创意形象。经过两轮严格的评审，最终采纳了校内师生的创意元素，由专业设计师精心设计和创作。2021年4月1日，承载着图书馆精神与愿景的礼步步正式亮相，以其独特的形象和魅力，为图书馆的每一项服务、每一次活动注入了新的活力。礼步步的出现，让每一位走进图书馆的读者都能感受到文化的温暖与魅力，使图书馆成为了一个更加生动、有趣的文化空间。

In 2021, we recognised the immense value of having a cute and charismatic mascot to enhance library users' engagement and sense of belonging in library activities. Thus, in March of that year, we launched a month-long mascot creative contest open to all library users across the university. The contest aimed to discover a creative image representing the library's spirit. After two rigorous evaluation rounds, the creative elements contributed by students and faculty members within the university were skillfully designed and crafted by professional designers. On April 1, 2021, Libro officially debuted, embodying the spirit and vision of the library. With its unique image and charm, Libro infuses new vitality into every service and activity within the library. Libro's presence allows every library user who walks through the doors to experience the warmth and allure of culture, transforming the library into a vibrant and enjoyable cultural space.

As mentioned in previous posts, starting in 2022, the Branding and User Engagement Team has undertaken a comprehensive integration of past user activities and established multiple brand events, including the Year-End and New Year series, such as "A Walk in the Books," "Back2School," and "Art Infinity." These activities each have their own unique features but share a common goal of showcasing the Library's abundant resources and humanistic care to library users and the general public. Through collaborative efforts across departments, these brand events effectively integrate the Library's resources, services, and activities, highlighting the Library's accomplishments in promoting innovative library user services and cultural dissemination. Looking ahead, the Library will continue to organise a diverse range of high-quality brand events, offering library users a personalised and enriching service experience while providing a broader platform for academic research and cultural exchange.

On the occasion of the University's tenth anniversary, the Library is thrilled to announce a series of brand events for the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. These exceptional events will revolve around the themes of heritage and integration, highlighting the harmonious coexistence of traditional Chinese culture, modern academic ideas, and aesthetic arts. These events reflect the university's philosophy of "combining tradition with modernity and bringing together China and the West."

艺术无限·Art Infinity

在即将于九月举行的艺术无限品牌活动中，图书馆将以“传承·融合——古今中西美学对话”的主题作为整个展览的核心。此次展览将不仅是深入探索自南宋至清初多民族文化的交融与共生，更会展示东方艺术特色在西方艺术作品中的独特呈现与进化轨迹。同时，展览还将聚焦西方艺术对中国现代美术的深远影响与启迪，引领观众跨越时空，领略不同文化背景下的艺术之美。

In the highly anticipated Art Infinity brand event, scheduled for September, the Library will explore the theme "Legacy and Fusion: Timeless Dialogues of Beauty between Ancient and Modern Chinese and Western Aesthetics." This extraordinary exhibition will delve deep into multicultural influences' intricate blending and symbiosis, spanning from the Southern Song Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty. It will unveil the unique presentation and evolutionary trajectory of Eastern artistic characteristics within Western artworks. Moreover, the exhibition will pay homage to Western art's profound impact and inspiration on contemporary Chinese art, providing visitors with an opportunity to transcend time and space as they immerse themselves in the captivating beauty of art across diverse cultural contexts.

在本次展览中，图书馆将展出来自中西方的二十余幅著名绘画作品的高清复制品、中国传统文化与西方艺术的百余册馆藏图书，以及与香港中文大学和香港中文大学（深圳）有关的二十余册馆藏图书。

The exhibition will showcase meticulously crafted reproductions of over twenty renowned paintings from both Chinese and Western traditions. Additionally, it will feature an extensive collection of more than a hundred library resources that delve into Chinese traditional culture and Western art. Furthermore, the exhibition will proudly present over twenty library collections associated with The Chinese University of Hong Kong and The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

In the captivating "A Walk in the Books" series of events for the 2024-2025 academic year, the Library will explore ancient myths as its core theme. This enlightening journey will delve into the pivotal religious and cultural roles played by these legendary stories in ancient societies while shedding light on their enduring influence in modern society.

在展览期间，图书馆将精心策划一系列丰富多彩的活动。其中，主题书展将成为此次活动的核心，展示与古代神话紧密相关的经典著作，带领读者走进神秘的神话世界。此外，图书馆还将推出视听讲座、VR电影院以及主题讲座等多种形式的互动体验，让读者能够更全面地了解古代神话的发展历程以及在现代文化中的传承与创新。

Between 2014 and 2024, the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen undertook a transformative journey, constantly enhancing and diversifying its activity models through consistent user engagement. Beyond its conventional role of promoting reading, the Library expanded its scope to encompass user services, research support, and resource development. This expansion introduced a wide array of unique and captivating themed activities that distinguished the Library from others. Simultaneously, the Library accomplished the remarkable feat of establishing a collection of signature events synonymous with its brand. These events have significantly enriched its users' academic and cultural experiences, offering them a broader range of captivating and immersive encounters.

从阅读开始的文化之旅

The Cultural Journey Starting from Reading

建校初期，图书馆举办的读者活动主要围绕阅读推广这一主题展开，形式以讲座和分享会为主，并特别在世界读书日等阅读主题日期间进行。例如，2015年的世界读书日，图书馆特邀上海图书馆系统网络中心副主任赵亮先生，进行了一场关于“阅读的未来”的专题讲座，深入探讨了阅读在当代社会的意义与未来发展。而在2018年的世界读书日期间，图书馆与国际公益网校合办了一场《奇迹男孩》分享会，邀请嘉宾包括国际公益学院兼职研究员、深圳恒晖儿童公益基金会创始人、原湖北省恩施州巴东县委书记陈行甲和2004年雅典奥运会女排冠军张萍。这些活动不仅与图书馆作为阅读场所的传统定位相契合，更进一步强化了图书馆在阅读推广方面的角色，为广大读者提供了丰富的阅读体验和学习机会。

In the early years of its establishment, the library primarily organised user activities focused on promoting reading. These activities included lectures and sharing sessions, particularly during significant reading-themed events like World Book Day. For instance, on World Book Day in 2015, the Library invited Mr Zhao Liang, the Deputy Director of the Shanghai Library System Network Center, to deliver a special lecture on "The Future of Reading." The lecture delved into the significance of reading in contemporary society and its future development. During World Book Day in 2018, the library collaborated with an international public welfare online school to host a sharing session on the book "Wonder." The event featured esteemed guests, including a part-time researcher from the International Public Welfare Institute, the founder of Shenzhen Henghui Children's Public Welfare Foundation, and Ms Zhang Ping, the women's volleyball team champion in the 2004 Athens Olympics. These activities aligned with the Library's traditional role as a reading space and strengthened its position in promoting reading. They provided library users with enriching reading experiences and learning opportunities.

正如此前发布的文章中提到的，图书馆自组建学科馆员团队开始，便一直致力于开展丰富的信息素养技能培训。这些培训涵盖了学术写作、学术信息检索以及图书馆资源概况等多个领域，通过不同的培训形式，为读者提供了关于如何利用图书馆信息资源进行教学与科研工作的深入指导。

As mentioned in the previous article, since establishing the subject librarian team, the Library has been dedicated to conducting a wide range of information literacy skills training. These comprehensive training sessions cover various areas, including academic writing, academic information retrieval, and an overview of library resources. Through diverse training formats, the Library provides users with in-depth guidance on effectively utilising library information resources for teaching and research purposes.

为了进一步促进图书馆与读者之间的交流与互动，深入了解读者需求并优化服务，图书馆还会举办一系列公开与非公开的读者交流活动。例如，2023年4月成功举办的“相约图书馆”活动，就搭建了一个有效的沟通平台。此次活动不仅增强了图书馆与读者之间的紧密联系，也促进了相关工作的顺利开展。读者通过此次活动更深入地了解了图书馆在学习与研究中所能提供的支持，而图书馆则能够更准确地把握读者的需求与关切。参与活动的读者和图书馆工作人员均表示收获颇丰，图书馆也将认真考虑读者的反馈和意见，不断优化服务。

A notable example is the highly successful "A Date with the Library" event held in April 2023, which was an effective communication platform. This event strengthened the close bond between the Library and its users, facilitating the smooth implementation of relevant initiatives. Participants gained a deeper appreciation of the Library's support for their learning and research, and the Library could accurately grasp user needs and concerns. Both users and librarians expressed high levels of satisfaction, and the Library is committed to carefully considering user feedback and suggestions to improve its services continuously.

此外，为提升读者荐购的广度和效率，图书馆每年会精心策划多场四时书展活动。与一般的主题书展不同，四时书展主要展示非正式馆藏的精选图书。读者在观展时，可以直接向工作人员提出采购需求，图书馆在展览结束后将根据收集到的需求进行集中采购，以满足读者的个性化阅读需求。

Furthermore, to expand the breadth and efficiency of user recommendations, the Library meticulously plans seasonal book exhibitions each year. Unlike conventional themed displays, these exhibitions primarily showcase selected books from the informal collection. During these exhibitions, users can directly request purchases from the staff. Following the exhibition's conclusion, the Library conducts centralised procurement based on the collected demands, catering to its users' personalised reading needs.

这些专业性的图书馆活动，不仅提升了服务品质，也拉近了图书馆与读者之间的距离。通过持续开展此类活动，图书馆能够及时了解读者的反馈与需求，不断优化服务流程与内容，为读者提供更加优质、高效的图书馆服务。

These specialised library activities enhance the quality of services and bridge the gap between the Library and its users. By consistently organising such activities, the Library can promptly understand user feedback and needs, optimise service processes and content, and provide users with high-quality and efficient library services.

随着大学的不断发展，读者对空间与资源的需求也在持续增长。鉴于此，自2018年起，图书馆进行了大规模的扩展，增设了全新的大学图书馆馆舍。这一变革不仅为图书馆提供了更为宽敞的阅览空间，更为图书馆举办丰富多彩的活动开辟了新的天地。随着空间与资源的日益丰富，图书馆逐渐将读者活动扩展到更广泛的领域，超越了传统的阅读推广范畴，更加注重读者与图书馆之间的深度互动与情感联系。

With the continuous development of the University, there has been a growing demand among library users for space and resources. In response, the Library underwent a large-scale expansion in 2018, establishing a new University Library building. This transformation provided the library with more spacious reading spaces and created new opportunities for hosting diverse and vibrant activities. As a result of the increasing availability of space and resources, the Library gradually expanded its range of user activities, surpassing the traditional scope of reading promotion and placing greater emphasis on deep interaction and emotional connections between library users and the Library.

作为一所致力于学术研究的图书馆，香港中文大学（深圳）图书馆一直在思考如何通过举办一系列精彩纷呈的活动，为读者打开更为广阔的学术科研之窗。自2022年起，图书馆读者品牌部对以往定期举办的零散阅读推广等读者活动进行了全面整合，并根据活动的特性和目标，逐步创立了书林漫步系列活动、Back2School系列活动和年末年始系列活动。这些活动各具特色，但共同的目标都是向读者乃至社会公众展示图书馆的丰富资源与人文关怀。

As an academic library, the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen has been considering ways to provide its users with a broader academic and research experience through a series of exciting activities. Since 2022, the Branding and User Engagement team has integrated previous scattered reading promotion activities and gradually established three series of activities: "A Walk in the Books," "Back2School," and "Year-End and New Year." Each series has its own unique characteristics, but they all share a common goal of showcasing the Library's abundant resources and commitment to humanistic care to library users and the wider public.

For instance, during the 2023-2024 academic year, the Library focused on the theme "Into the Future" for its "A Walk in the Books" series of activities, closely tied to the popular IP of Liu Cixin's science fiction novel "The Wandering Earth." The Library planned various engaging activities, including thematic book exhibitions, audio-visual lectures, book-sharing video exhibitions, and the opportunity for library users to submit their contributions. Through these activities, the Library aims to guide library users in exploring the mysteries of the future world, uncovering the deeper meanings and connotations behind the theme, and inspiring their imagination and creativity.

此外，为了进一步丰富读者的文化生活，图书馆自2023年起创立了艺术无限·Art Infinity系列文艺展品牌活动。这一活动通过画展、书展和讲座等多种形式，将艺术、历史、文化与大学课程、图书馆资源紧密结合，向读者呈现了一个更加立体、丰富的图书馆形象。通过这一活动，读者不仅可以欣赏到精美的艺术作品，还能深入了解作品背后的文化内涵和历史背景，提升审美能力和文化素养。

Furthermore, to enhance library users' cultural experiences, the library established the "Art Infinity" series of cultural and artistic exhibitions starting in 2023. This series combines art, history, culture, university courses, and library resources through various forms such as art exhibitions, book displays, and lectures. By doing so, the Library presents library users with a more comprehensive and enriching image. Through the "Art Infinity" series, library users can appreciate exquisite artworks and gain a deeper understanding of the cultural significance and historical background behind the works, enhancing their aesthetic abilities and cultural literacy.

The establishment of these branding activities integrates the single-format activities with the Library's resources and services more effectively. It highlights the Library's positive achievements in promoting innovation in library user services and cultural dissemination through collaboration and cooperation among multiple departments. Looking ahead, the Library will continue to organise a wide range of high-quality branding activities, providing users with more diverse and personalised service experiences and creating a broader platform for academic research and cultural exchange.

Academic libraries have undergone a remarkable transformation in the current era of a thriving knowledge economy. No longer mere repositories of books and providers of borrowing services, they have evolved into vibrant hubs of information and gateways to academic research. These libraries serve as beacons of knowledge, guiding students in exploring the mysteries of academia and illuminating their path to success. In this context, the Library of CUHK-Shenzhen, a professional academic library, has remained committed to continuous development and staying abreast of the changing times over the past decade. The Library has optimised and upgraded its spatial layout to meet the growing academic demands and introduced advanced facilities and equipment. These efforts aim to create a more comfortable and convenient learning environment for faculty and students. As a result, the Library has become an indispensable and vital place on campus, bearing witness to and actively promoting the progress and development of academic research.

馆内空间的多元设计

Diverse Design of Library Spaceso

2014年，香港中文大学（深圳）在启动区建立了黄宜弘梁凤仪伉俪图书馆（当时尚称为启动区图书馆）。自那时起，这座图书馆便肩负起承载大学学子学习与生活梦想的重任。从2014年至2018年这短短四年间，图书馆不仅作为知识的宝库，更成为了见证学校从无到有、从小到大发展历程的重要角色。随着学校的不断发展壮大，图书馆也在不断完善和提升。为了适应广大读者日益多样化的需求，并助力学校的持续发展，图书馆于2018年正式开放了新的馆舍——大学图书馆。这座新馆的建筑面积实现了质的飞跃，从黄宜弘梁凤仪伉俪图书馆的4000平方米扩展到两个馆舍共24000平方米，为师生们提供了更为广阔的学习天地。同时，大学图书馆在功能布局上也进行了精心的设计和优化。小组学习室的数量和类型均有了显著的增加，从原先单一类型的25间扩展到六大类型共80间。这些学习室各具特色，功能各异，充分满足了师生们多样化的学习需求：

In 2014, the University established the Philip Wong Yu-hong & Anita Leung Fung-yee Library in the start-up zone, which has since played a crucial role in supporting the academic pursuits and dreams of the University. Over four years, it served as a treasure trove of knowledge and witnessed the significant growth and development of the campus. As the University expanded, the Library underwent continuous improvement to meet the increasingly diverse needs of users and contribute to the ongoing development of the campus. In 2018, the Library took a significant stride forward by opening the University Library, a spacious new building spanning 24,000 square meters across two buildings, providing students and faculty with a much broader and more accommodating learning space. The University Library was thoughtfully designed and optimised, paying careful attention to its functional layout, including a notable increase in the number and variety of group study rooms, expanding from 25 rooms of a single type to 80 rooms across six different types, fully catering to the varied learning needs of students and faculty:

SilenCell: It provides solitary spaces for library users who require a quiet environment, allowing them to concentrate on individual study without external disturbances.

Editing Studio: Equipped with advanced video editing software and equipment, it provides a professional-level practice platform for library users interested in video production and editing.

Research Room: It provides an independent and focused environment for individual research, allowing researchers to delve deep into their thoughts and explore the mysteries of academia.

Group Study Room: It is suitable for group discussions and collaborative learning, encouraging students to exchange ideas, share their wisdom, and progress together.

Meeting Room: It can be utilised for hosting small meetings or seminars, providing a convenient venue for academic exchanges.

Training Room and Interactive Space: It offers an ideal space for large-scale events or courses, fostering interaction and learning between teachers and students.

除此之外，图书馆还通过精心打造3D打印工作室、互动教室以及剪辑室等多个特色空间，成功地为读者提供了一个充满创意、实践与互动的数字教育创新环境。这些空间不仅配备了先进的设备和技术，还通过举办丰富多彩的活动，为读者提供了学习、交流和创作的平台。这些举措不仅丰富了图书馆的服务内涵，也进一步提升了其在数字教育领域的影响力，为广大读者带来了更加多元化、个性化的学习体验和发展机会。

Besides, the Library has meticulously created several distinctive spaces, such as a 3D printing studio, interactive space, and editing studio, to provide library users with a digital educational innovation environment filled with creativity, practicality, and interaction. These spaces have advanced equipment and technology and host diverse activities, offering users platforms for learning, communication, and creation. These initiatives enrich the Library's services and enhance its influence in digital education, providing a more diverse and personalised learning experience and development opportunities for a wide range of library users.

这些多样化的空间不仅为读者提供了舒适、便捷的学习环境，更成为了知识交流和创意碰撞的温床。大学图书馆的开放，无疑为学校的学术研究和文化发展注入了新的活力，也标志着图书馆服务迈上了新的台阶。

These diverse spaces provide library users with a comfortable and convenient learning environment and serve as a breeding ground for knowledge exchange and creative collisions. The openness of the University Library unquestionably infuses new vitality into academic research and cultural development within the University, marking a significant milestone in library services.

公共区域的设备升级

Equipment Upgrade

为了满足读者日益多样化的需求，图书馆不仅会定期评估馆内各类设备的使用情况，及时替换利用率较低的设备，还会根据评估结果对空间布局进行精细化调整，以优化读者的使用体验。

To meet the increasingly diverse needs of library users, the Library regularly evaluates the usage of various equipment. It promptly replaces underutilised devices and makes fine adjustments to the spatial layout based on the evaluation results to optimise the user experience.

目前，馆内设备已完成了从传统检索机到功能更强大的VDI一体机、双屏及单屏外接显示器等的升级，为读者提供了更为丰富多样的选择。馆内公共空间现设有外接显示器126台，打印复印扫描一体机12台、电脑（包括VDI一体机及苹果iMac）75台、读报机1台、自助高清扫描仪2台，以及书籍消毒柜1台，这些先进设备的配置，旨在为读者提供更加便捷、高效的服务体验，满足他们在学习和研究中的多样化需求。

The Library's equipment has upgraded from traditional retrieval machines to more powerful VDI all-in-one machines and dual-screen and single-screen external displays, providing library users with a broader range of choices. The public areas of the library are equipped with 126 external displays, 12 multifunctional printers/copiers/scanners, 75 computers (including VDI all-in-one machines and Apple iMacs), 1 newspaper reader, 2 self-service high-definition scanner, and 1 book disinfection cabinet. The configuration of these advanced devices aims to provide library users with a more convenient and efficient service experience, meeting their diverse needs in learning and research.

After undergoing a gradual process of intelligent transformation, the Library now presents itself to library users more professionally, comfortably, and conveniently.

2019年，图书馆采用了刷脸入馆系统，读者无需携带任何证件，即可迅速完成身份验证，轻松入馆。这一举措不仅简化了繁琐的入馆流程，更极大地提升了通行效率和安全性，同时也有效避免了因证件遗失或忘带而造成的入馆困扰。

In 2019, the Library introduced a facial recognition entry system, enabling users to swiftly complete identity verification and access the Library without needing identification documents. This initiative streamlines the cumbersome entry process and significantly enhances efficiency and security, eliminating the inconvenience caused by misplaced or forgotten identification documents.

针对学习小组的需求，图书馆对预约系统进行不断地完善。如今，预约系统覆盖的范围更加广泛，包括各类学习室、研讨室等，满足了不同规模和需求的学习小组。通过预约系统，读者可以方便地查看可用空间、预约使用时间，并实时了解预约状态。这一改进不仅提高了空间利用效率，更为学习小组提供了便捷、高效的预约服务，有力支持了读者的学习和研究活动。

In response to the requirements of study groups, the Library continually enhances its reservation system. Presently, the system encompasses a broader range of spaces, including diverse study rooms and seminar rooms, catering to study groups of varying sizes and specific needs. Through the reservation system, library users can conveniently check the availability of spaces, reserve usage time slots, and receive real-time updates on reservation status. This improvement optimises space utilisation efficiency and provides study groups with a convenient and efficient reservation service, effectively supporting users' learning and research activities.

此外，图书馆还增设了自助服务空间，配备了先进的自助借还书机、自助打印复印机等设备。这些设备操作简单、功能齐全，读者可以随时随地使用，无需等待人工服务。自助服务空间的设立不仅延长了图书馆的服务时间，更提高了服务效率，满足了读者在非工作时间对图书馆资源的需求。

Moreover, the Library has introduced self-service areas with state-of-the-art self-checkout machines, self-service printers/copiers, and other devices. These user-friendly and fully functional devices enable library users to access them at their convenience, anytime and anywhere, without needing manual assistance. Establishing self-service areas extends the Library's service hours and enhances service efficiency, meeting the diverse needs of library users for accessing library resources beyond regular working hours.

在软硬件设备的配备和使用规则的制定上，图书馆也进行了深入的研究和规划。通过对空间的差异化精细管理，图书馆实现了对各类资源的合理分配和高效利用。如今，图书馆的空间布局更加合理、使用规则更加明确，为读者提供了更加便捷、高效的服务。

The Library has conducted comprehensive research and planning regarding equipment allocation and establishing usage rules. Through meticulous and differentiated management of spaces, the Library ensures the rational allocation and efficient utilisation of its various resources. As a result, the Library's spatial layout has become more logical, and usage rules are now clearer, providing library users with a more convenient and efficient service experience.

2020年，图书馆迎来了一项创新举措——成立Fablab创客空间。这一空间内配备了两台顶尖性能的3D打印机，为广大读者搭建了一个充满无限创意与可能的创作平台。在过去的数载春秋中，图书馆成功地为读者打印了数以百计的3D作品，涵盖从艺术瑰宝到实用工具的多个领域，每一件作品都是智慧与技术的完美结合。同时，Fablab也积极致力于3D建模及3D打印技术的推广普及工作，并于2022年和2023年连续举办了两届备受读者欢迎的创客集结号活动。这些活动的成功举办，不仅有效地推广了3D建模和打印技术，更为读者们提供了一个难得的机会，使他们能够深入了解并亲身实践这一前沿技术，进一步激发了他们的创造热情与潜能。

This space has two state-of-the-art 3D printers, providing users with a platform brimming with boundless creativity and possibilities. Over the past few years, the Library has successfully printed hundreds of 3D works, encompassing diverse fields ranging from artistic masterpieces to practical tools. Each creation represents a seamless fusion of intellect and technology. Moreover, the Fablab Studio actively promotes and popularises 3D modelling and printing techniques. In 2022 and 2023, it organized two highly acclaimed Makers Assemble, which effectively showcased and disseminated knowledge about 3D modelling and printing technologies. These events provided users with a rare opportunity to deepen their understanding and gain hands-on experience with this cutting-edge technology. The success of these gatherings not only kindled their creative passion but also unlocked their untapped potential.

2022年，图书馆在服务层面再度取得显著进展，新启用的户外互动空间与119互动空间，已然蜕变为大学创新创意课程与活动的璀璨舞台。这些空间充满青春活力，不仅成为各类活动举办的理想之地，更成为学子们思想碰撞、创意实践的温馨乐园。在这里，图书馆与大学的其他部门、学院及团体组织携手合作，举办了丰富多彩的活动，如图书馆资源深度解析工作坊、备受欢迎的创客集结号系列活动、学院专题讲座、前沿研讨会、课程宣讲以及创新公开课等。这些活动为广大青年学子提供了一个展现才华、交流思想的广阔平台。图书馆借此机会，期望能为学习者打造一个既具启发性又充满实践性的学习环境，助力他们深入挖掘自身潜能，拓宽知识视野，实现个人成长与学术进步。

In 2022, the Library made significant strides in its service offerings. The newly opened outdoor and 119 interactive spaces have blossomed into vibrant stages for university innovation courses and activities. Infused with youthful energy, these spaces are perfect venues for many events and a welcoming haven for students to collaborate, exchange ideas, and engage in creative practices. Through collaborations with other departments, schools, and organisations within the University, the Library hosts diverse activities, including in-depth workshops on library resources, the immensely popular Makers Assemble series, thematic lectures by schools, cutting-edge seminars, course introductions, and innovative public classes. These activities provide a broad platform for young students to showcase their talents and foster intellectual exchange. The Library seizes this opportunity to create an inspiring and practical learning environment, enabling learners to explore their potential, broaden their knowledge horizons, and achieve personal growth and academic advancement.

在2024年，图书馆再度书写新篇章，推出了独具特色的剪辑室。经过细致的筹备和二十天的试运行，剪辑室已逐步完善并成为图书馆中极受读者追捧的热门场所。这里，读者们得以运用尖端的专业设备，尽情施展视频与音频编辑的才华。试运行期间，图书馆后台收获了读者们潮水般的积极反馈，剪辑室的预约率更是高达77%，这一显著数据无疑凸显了读者们对这项创新服务的热切渴望与强烈需求。剪辑室的建立不仅为读者们提供了一个专业且高效的创作舞台，进一步丰富了读者服务的内涵，更为图书馆注入了新的生机与活力。

In 2024, the Library embarked on an exciting new venture by introducing its unique Editing Studio. After meticulous preparations and a trial run of twenty days, the Editing Studio has evolved into a highly coveted space within the Library. It allows users to unleash their video and audio editing talents, utilising state-of-the-art professional equipment. During the trial period, the Library received an overwhelmingly positive response from users, with the booking rate for the Editing Studio soaring to an impressive 77%. This remarkable data underscores the users' eager anticipation and strong demand for this innovative service. The establishment of the Editing Studio not only provides users with a professional and efficient creative platform and expands the range of services available, infusing the Library with newfound vitality and energy.
